Worship

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

For the LORD is the great God
Come, let us bow down in worship
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker
                                     - From Psalm 95

Our Traditional Service is informal yet structured.  The music is both joyful and meditative, accompanied by organ and piano.  The singing is led by a praise team with song selections of hymns and praise choruses from past and present day arrangements.

Our Contemporary Services are casual with a more relaxed structure.  The music is led by a modern Praise and Worship Band featuring guitars, drums, bass, and a team of vocalists.

Each of the three services has the exact same sermon and biblical content.  The main difference is in the style of worship music.  We are concerned more about the heart of the worship than the musical style from which it is delivered, and we believe God accepts many different forms of worship.

The Big Picture

     We believe true worship is an absolute essential part of the Christian experience – that God is most pleased with us when we are experiencing heart-to-heart communion with Him in an attitude of complete surrender. When asked the most important commandment, Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37.)  This is the focus of our Worship Team.

     We believe God is worthy of our sincere worship .We believe He is a jealous God who looks for our love expressed to Him through surrendered lives, faith, a desire for His word, praises in personal testimony and song, instrumental music, gifts of artwork, drama, love for one another, and most precious of all, a quieted heart seeking Him in prayer.  We do all this for the purpose of walking in a relationship where He is given Lordship over every area of our lives.

     We believe worship should be focused around what brings God delight, rather than our own personal preferences.  Instead of asking ourselves what we want in worship, we take the focus off us and ask: “What does God want?  What pleases Him?  What does He desire as we come before Him?”
